EAB Acquires LGL Construction
On 9th October, it was announced that EAB AB has acquired LGL Construction AB, with both companies based in Smålandsstenar, Sweden. The seller is the investment company Profura AB, headquartered in Gothenburg, through its wholly owned subsidiary, LLENTAB Group AB.
LGL Construction will become EAB’s ninth subsidiary and will continue to operate as an independent company with its own management. The acquisition was approved by the Swedish Competition Authority on 10th October.
“We see the acquisition of LGL Construction as an excellent opportunity to further develop EAB within our core business areas, and we anticipate significant synergies, especially given the geographical proximity as both companies operate in Smålandsstenar,” says Per-Åke Andersson, CEO and co-owner of EAB, and continues:
“LGL Construction is a well-established company and brand, and it will continue to operate as an independent entity with its own management, in the same way as previous acquisitions such as Lecor Stålteknik and Hallbyggarna Sala.”
The seller is the investment company Profura AB, headquartered in Gothenburg, through its wholly owned subsidiary, LLENTAB Group AB.
“It feels very reassuring to sell LGL Construction to a secure and long-term owner like EAB. A genuine family business with unique expertise and experience in both manufacturing and sales of the type of steel structures that LGL offers to its market. We have had an excellent dialogue throughout the process, and we are confident that the new owners will develop the new subsidiary in a positive way,” says Mikael Thörnkvist, CEO of Profura AB.
The date for the transfer of ownership will depend on if and when approval is granted by the Swedish Competition Authority.
