We know from experience that fully glazed doors are one of EAB’s strengths
Falkenberg, the pearl of the west coast, is growing and in the municipality’s biggest investment ever, a completely new neighbourhood is being established – Tröingedal. When completed, the neighbourhood will include housing, premises for various activities, a new sports hall and a new school. One of the important cogs in the wheel as Tröingedal emerges, is SK Bygg.
Together with the property company Ekängengruppen AB, they are building a brand new urban apartment block, inspired by Paris and London, with window niches, bay windows and balconies. In addition to housing, a number of business townhouses are also being built, with flexible premises where the buyer has the opportunity to make their mark and adapt for their business. This is where EAB comes into the picture.
– We started the company almost 30 years ago and have worked with EAB for the past 20 years, so we know each other well by now. For this project, it was easy to choose a door supplier – according to the detailed plan, the doors must be fully glazed and from experience we know that this is one of EAB’s strengths, says Thomas Andersson, co-owner and founder of SK Bygg
EAB’s doors give character to the project
The premises are sold with ownership rights, and they will house several different types of entrepreneurs. Shops, small-scale manufacturing and offices, together with the apartment blocks in the area, will give the new neighbourhood a vibrant atmosphere.
– We are very pleased with the cooperation with EAB, it is always great to work with you. The deliveries and installation have gone smoothly, just as usual,” says Thomas.
At the time of writing, EAB has delivered 26 doors to the project. The fully glazed folding gates, painted completely in black, are stylish and will be the icing on the cake for the majestic lengths. The brick façade and sheet metal sections give a modern industrial impression. The doors have been delivered and installed in various stages, and the installation has been carried out by EAB’s own door fitters.
– We have installed the doors at Tröingedal in several rounds, as they were delivered from the factory. It’s a cool project, and since we’ve been there and installed them at different stages, we’ve been able to see the neighbourhood slowly emerge, says Joni Pietikäinen, EAB’s door fitter.
Although the doors are large, almost 3.9 x 3.5 metres, they have managed the installation with just two fitters.
– We have needed some help to erect the doors because of the size, otherwise my colleague Niklas and I have been able to do the installation ourselves. The team at SK Bygg has been great to work with, nice and always helpful if we have needed assistance. Sometimes we can’t get a complete overview until we are on site, which makes it difficult to anticipate the need for assistance. That’s why it’s very valuable to have a helpful partner there, says Joni with a smile.
Although it simplifies the work that the doors are the same, it is an extensive work that is done in several stages.
– It takes us about a week to install six doors of this size, and a whole day just to install all the frames. That’s probably the most fun part, every door and every project is different – no two days are the same, Joni concludes.
